The women of our wars

I have a book to write. It is my story. It is our story. It is about a generation of women forged stronger by our longest war. These women walked or flew across Iraq’s deserts and Afghanistan’s mountains. Others were home, not knowing much about “over there” or understanding why. All were war fighters. All lived this war, with sweat and blood and so many tears.

War fighters then became mothers, teachers, business owners, doctors, and caretakers. Again there was sweat, some blood, and likely many more tears. Still they moved forward.

These women lead with sacred love. They are silent and courageous. Most of all, they are strong. With each challenge they rise again – stronger.

And Still They Rise…
